Involved in the control of stem cells and sexdetermination in the C.elegans hermaphrodite germline. May alsoplay a role in the hermaphrodite germline proliferation andoogenesis. Binds specifically to the regulatory region of fem-33'-UTR and mediates the sperm/oocyte switch. Negatively regulatesgld-3 expression, possibly by directly binding to two sites withinthe 3'-UTR of gld-3 isoform B.
